Independence

Yield Yardstick does not currently run advertising or accept payment from any brand, app, or organization in exchange for favorable coverage of a method. If that changes, we will disclose it clearly on affected pages.

How comparisons are chosen

We select method pairs that are genuinely related — close enough in purpose that comparing them side by side is useful, rather than an arbitrary pairing designed to generate traffic. Each pair is reviewed against our fixed set of ten criteria, described on our methodology page.

Sourcing standards

We cite identifiable studies, books, and institutions. We do not invent authors, papers, or statistics. Where research is thin, we say so explicitly with a "limited evidence" or "preliminary evidence" label rather than overstating what's known. See our sources page for the full reference list.

Language and tone

We aim for plain, specific, and honest language. We avoid absolute claims ("best," "guaranteed," "proven to work for everyone"), pseudo-scientific scoring, and personality quizzes. Every comparison is written to help you reason about your own situation, not to sell you on a single answer.

Updates

Comparisons may be revised as research evolves or as we identify ways to make a page clearer or more accurate. Significant factual updates are reflected in a page's "updated" date.

Corrections

If you find an error, we want to know. See our corrections page for how to report one.
